"Little Prince" Social Centers for Children

Family oriented support for children and adolescent in critical circumstances “Little Prince” social centers / Gyumri and Tashir

Location: Gyumri (Shirak Province) and Tashir (Lori Province)

Goal

To contribute to the social protection of disadvantaged children and child protection reforms in Armenia.

Description:

The project strives to integrate disadvantaged children and youth socially through providing social and psychological work, promotion of healthy lifestyle and educational and life-skills trainings. Other objectives of the project are provision of their families with proper knowledge and skills for improving their social conditions and work with communities and schools for better understanding the children needs and gaining their support for integration of children.

Primary direct target group of the project are 12-18 years old 120 children and youth (85 in Gyumri, and 35 in Tashir) from disadvantaged families and members of their families. These are mainly the families that have low budgets, low parenting abilities, drug or alcohol addiction.

Secondary direct targets are Gyumri and Tashir communities and 12 community secondary schools: 9 schools in Gyumri and 3 in Tashir.

Social Protection of disadvantaged children/youth and their families in Vanadzor and Gavar/ “Little Prince”

Location: Vanadzor (Lori Province) and Gavar (Gegharkunik Province) 

Goal

To contribute the social protection of disadvantaged children, youth and their family members in the cities of Vanadzor and Gavar.

Description:

imary direct target group of the project are 12-18 years old 120 children and youth (75 in Vanadzor, and 40 in Gavar from disadvantaged families and members of their families. These are mainly the families that have low budgets, low parenting abilities, drug or alcohol addiction.

  1. Socio-psychological complex assistance to 115 children and youth aged 10-18 and their family members.
  2. Life skill development opportunities for children and professional development of their parents/family members.
  3. Provision of nourishment, stationery, hygienic items and clothes.
  4. Organization of entertainment activities and social events.

«Little Prince, Artashat 2016-2018»

Location: Artashat (Ararat Province)

Goal

Promote and provide social protection to disadvantaged children, young people and their families in Artashat.

Description:

Providing of social, psychological services to children and youth, as well as their family members, promoting healthy lifestyle and life skills trainings, social integration. Educational and life skills trainings, vocational guidance through further vocational trainings. Among the objectives of the program is the active work with schools and communities for supporting children's needs and identifying their effective integration.

Target groups of vulnerable children and young people, orphans, risk group children, family members of the unemployed, families with low parental skills.
